Once all the bell housing bolts are removed the transmission will sit in place on two alignment posts. You may have a special add on for your regular floor jack to support a transmission motor or you can use a thick piece of wood. Remove the swivel part from the floor jack. Loosen each bell housing bolt around the front of the transmission with a ratcheting wrench extension and socket. Get your hands on a cheap floor jack. This is most easily done by using a pair of snap ring pliers.

Place the transmission jack under the transmission and then take a socket wrench and remove the support nut the cross member and the rear support insulator from the rear engine. Transmission removal replacement and installation. 15 b with the help of an assistant hold the transmission steady on the jack and move the jack back and away from the engine just slightly so that the transmission separates from the engine then slowly lower the jack. Remove the 13mm bolt from the center of the crossmember that goes into the transmission mount bracket.

I ve been puting the transmission removal off for a few days but did it. Now just need to remove 4x4 stuff and drop in the new engine.
